- Prioritizes purchasing initiatives, establishes policies and objectives, and defines the company's key sourcing strategies
- Sets strategies related to vendor assessments and purchasing terms and conditions to help ensure products or services ordered are delivered on time at the best quality and value
- Establishes policies and methodologies for sourcing new products or services, approving vendors, and determining when products should be sourced to a single vendor or to multiple vendors to provide a stable and consistent supply.
- Collaborates with internal business partners to understand demand and supplier trends, and analyzes financial information related to total cost of ownership to support business strategy
- Look for opportunities to consolidate vendors and partner with colleagues to set purchasing standards to improve negotiations and reduce the total cost of ownership for products and services
- Analyses broad purchasing practices, evaluates quotes and performs cost/price and value analysis to select, recommend or develop alternative suppliers
- Act as point of contact for ITW Global Strategic Sourcing team and attend bi-weekly sourcing meeting and yearly sourcing conference
- Leads, manages and develops a team of sourcing professionals in the different geographies to maximize delivery while boosting motivation and engagement
- Oversees critical supplier relationship management and contract management processes to ensure terms are met.
- Negotiates with 80 suppliers on price, schedule, terms and conditions and any other contractual requirements.
- Creates supplier specific strategies and improvement initiatives while enlisting the work of other departments; maintains supplier's requisite programs to manage unanticipated demand spikes as needed; creates and manages lead-time reduction programs with key suppliers based on VMI, Kanban…
- Manages supplier performance during the performance period, including but not limited to follow-up on orders placed to verify delivery and/or resolve any contractual issues.
- Delivers purchasing budget, updated forecasts, and reports monthly variances, both increases driven by market and savings from sourcing actions.
- Minimum Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Economy or similar.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Purchase/Sourcing position or in a Marketing/Sales role in the chemical sector.
- Experience with Vendor Management Systems.
- Knowledge of Purchasing fundamentals in a manufacturing environment
- You have demonstrable experience in Project Management
- You can easily handle Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and you preferably have experience with an ERP package.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to travel (20-30%)

- Onsite based (our office is located in Sint Niklaas, Belgium) with options for remote work possible (2 days max per week after successful onboarding & probation period)
