As a (European) Funding Consultant, your objective is to work on complex technical and valorisation issues related to innovative and sustainable projects across a wide range of industrial sectors. You will secure funding opportunities that align with your clients' strategies. Our Grants Team and our EU Affairs Team work closely with the national experts in the Leyton countries.In direct relation with the client's executive-level or project leads, you are responsible for:ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Co-funding detection: you analyse projects and identify most appropriate co-funding opportunities for your clients at national and European level, accurately assessing the feasibility of projects, and liaising with the national teams to assess national opportunities as well
  • Actively supporting the scouting activities for new prospects
  • Building partnerships: you help our clients to find partners all over Europe, form consortia
  • Proposal preparation management: you quickly understand the strengths and weaknesses of a project/business in order to translate it into a convincing grant application, you support other Grants Consultants during the drafting phases, reviewing and co-drafting proposals.
  • Client management: you manage and foster relationships with Leyton's clients, including during the proposal preparation phases
  • Training and coaching: sharing your expertise, you help colleagues across Europe develop their knowledge and skills regarding (EU) Grants
  • Representation: you represent Leyton's strategic interests at various (networking) events
  • Communication: you operate as a key-contact internally/externally and towards the public authorities; you contribute to the shaping of new communication tools and their content;
  • Business development: you participate in the drafting of commercial proposals and account development actions
  • Troubleshooting: you are quick to signal potential issues and find solutions that work smoothly for all parties involved
  • Coordination: you are able to coordinate international consortia or across multiple countries of a multinational company
PROFILE
  • You have strong experience in client management
  • You have at least 3 years of professional experience in European grants such as Innovation Fund, Connecting Europe Facility, European Defence Fund, Horizon Europe, LIFE, etc. - experience with public affairs is a real plus
  • You are passionate about societal challenges, innovation, climate, energy and research and have an entrepreneurial mindset
  • You are client focused, you have excellent writing skills and interpersonal skills allowing you to adapt in a technical environment interacting with senior executives
  • Adaptive and quick-thinking particularly in unexpected situations.
  • You are good at solving problems in a creative and constructive way
  • You have the ability to work independently and to define and meet specific objectives
  • You are rigorous and methodical with a strong capacity for analysis and synthesis
  • Networking skills are a plus
  • You are fluent in English. The knowledge of other European languages is a plus
  • You are available to occasionally travel within Europe
