Careers at the von Karman Institute: Construct the future together!Today, we are looking for an "Electromechanics Technician" to strengthen our team.Job DescriptionThe new colleague will be responsible for operating the Plasmatron. This test installation is used for space re-entry materials testing at high heat fluxes.You will be involved in a variety of research & development tests. You will manage the laboratory equipment of this unique test instllation (a 1.05MW plasma generator), or any other of our 50 research installations.More specifically, daily work may consist of:
  • Assembling, preparing and mounting the test devices.
  • Maintaining and operating the test installations & the laboratory equipment’s.
  • Ensuring proper organization and tidiness of the work environment.
Requirements and QualificationsTo qualify for this position the candidate must possess, or be willing to learn, the following knowledge, experience and competencies:
  • Technical degree in (electro-)mechanics (professional bachelor) or equivalent through experience.
  • Experience in preventive maintenance and repair of equipment
  • Good knowledge of technical drawings and (electro)-mechanics
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good teamplayer in an international working environment
  • French or Dutch is required. English is a plus.
