Our client is looking for a Procurement Manager that will not only manage a team but also the full strategy of the procurement activities.The Procurement Manager will have the following responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for investment projects, including monitoring project maturity and proposing suitable procurement approaches.
  • Participate in key negotiations with major suppliers and manage a portfolio of tenders with significant impact.
  • Manage a team of buyers responsible for purchasing technical studies, works, and equipment
  • Foster effective sharing of market knowledge within the Procurement team and other relevant departments.
  • Lead proactive prospecting efforts in developing domains to explore alternative solutions with suppliers.
  • Coordinate and oversee daily activities of the Procurement team, prioritizing tasks and skills.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop category plans and risk management strategies for major purchases.
  • Maintain good relationships with internal clients and major suppliers, ensuring effective supplier management.

  • Holds a Master's degree in Civil or Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Between 5 and 10 years of experience in procurement management or industrial CAPEX Project Management
  • Fluent in English and Dutch; knowledge of French is a plus.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage a team and promote a cooperative work environment.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Has good knowledge of procurement policies, processes, and best practices.
  • Ideally familiar with EU procurement procedures and regulations on public tenders.
  • Excels in stakeholder management, capable of building and maintaining relationships.
  • Possesses an analytical mind and can interpret market trends and data.
  • Understands compliance requirements, including legal and ESG/CSR aspects.
  • Exhibits excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Can think outside the box and thrive in a dynamic environment focused on results and continuous improvement.
