AccountantIn your role as Accountant at BOSAQ, you won’t be merely crunching numbers all day. You are instrumental in managing the financial operations of multiple Belgian entities, as well as several international subsidiaries. By hiring you we bring the majority of our accounting activities in-house, and you will be responsible for day-to-day accounting, payment preparation, VAT filings, and cost allocations. BOSAQ is an ambitious company, and is growing rapidly. As we go through the growth phases, ideally your role will evolve to include financial analysis and internal reporting in support of the CFO and senior management.Your key responsibilities will be as follows:🧮Core Accounting & BookkeepingMaintaining accurate and timely financial records in compliance with Belgian GAAPRecording general ledger entries, supplier invoices, expense reports and adjustmentsCustomer invoice creation and following up on paymentsManaging month-end and year-end closing processes across multiple entitiesMatching of Invoice / PO / Receipt💰Payments & Cash ManagementPreparing domestic and international payment batchesMonitoring Bank cash flow, managing Petty cash, credit card statement reconciliation.Supporting cash forecasting and banking relationships⚖️VAT & Statutory ComplianceCollecting, validating, and submitting VAT returns (for Belgium and, if applicable, also abroad)Managing submission of annual statutory accounts.Ensuring compliance with Belgian and international accounting and tax obligationsConnecting with external tax advisors, legal counsel, and auditors when needed💸Cost Allocation & IntercompanyAllocating costs across departments, entities, and projectsHandling intercompany recharging, reconciliations, and documentationSupporting in developing internal financial controls🖥️ERP & Process IntegrationWorking within existing ERP systems and assisting in future implementations or transitionsAssisting in setting up efficient workflows and automation within the ERP environment📈As the company grows, this role might further evolve to include an element of Internal Reporting & Support. This could translate into:Supporting the CFO with financial reports, variance analysis, and budget trackingContributing to management dashboards and KPIsProviding data-driven insights for strategic decision-making⚒️ SkillsAs Accountant, you have at a minimum the following:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldStrong knowledge of Belgian GAAP, VAT rules, and financial reporting requirements3-5 years of relevant accounting experience in Belgium, if you also have some international experience that is a big advantageHands-on experience with various ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics, Exact Online, Odoo, Netsuite, SAP, etc.)The ability to work across entities and manage multi-company bookkeepingExcellent skills in ExcelFluency in both English and Dutch, as both languages are essential in managing our company processes😎 AttitudesIn this role, nitpicking is encouraged 😉.
