over de organisatieP.A.R.T.S. is an international school of contemporary dance in Brussels. P.A.R.T.S. runs two dance programmes: Training is a three-year Bachelor programme for aspiring dancers and choreographers, STUDIOS is a two-year specialisation programme with a focus on young creators. The student community consists of about 50 students from diverse backgrounds. P.A.R.T.S is strongly embedded in the artistic field. It hosts over 65 guest lecturers and artists every year.P.A.R.T.S. was founded (1995) and is directed by choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker. Located on the Van Volxemlaan in Forest, it is part of a dynamic artistic workplace that also houses the Rosas dance company and the contemporary music ensemble Ictus.over de functieP.A.R.T.S. is looking for a new colleague with a psychology profile and background to support its students throughout their studies period.Job description & duties:
  • Guidance for students (BA and MA):
  • individual sessions (short-term guidance or referrals)
  • group training sessions (e.g. time management, eating disorders, whatever is relevant at that moment)
  • open group discussions without a pre-agreed theme
  • Case-by-case approach
  • Consultation with tutors, teachers and team
  • Providing advice, contributing to well-being policy, attending meetings (departmental meetings/teacher meetings/student council, depending on the topic)
  • Flexibility, autonomy of work and over your own agenda, but your schedule must be aligned with that of the students
  • Evening work is sometimes necessary (e.g. for training)
  • The students are primarily international. The working language at the school is English and consultations, workshops and any other session will be held in English
  • Pro-activity and own initiatives are welcomed! There is great receptiveness to psychoanalytic work; other approaches are also welcome.
profiel kandidaatProfile/Selection Criteria:
  • You have a BA degree in psychology.
  • You speak, read, write and understand English on a professional level (C1/2); Knowledge of other languages (NL, FR and/ or other languages) is a plus.
  • You have MS Office experience and you are comfortable in using Google Apps platforms and Drive.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You enjoy working in a team virtually, hybrid and on location.
  • You use interpersonal skills effectively in relation to a variety of cultural and ethnic stakeholder groups.
  • You are eager to work closely with different stakeholders and a wide array of student backgrounds.
  • You have the ability to work on your own initiative, prioritise work and meet deadlines.
  • Must have working rights in Belgium.
Desirable:
  • Experience as student psychologist and working with international students
  • Affinity with the dance world and the cultural sector
  • An understanding of higher education sector
  • Special certifications in the field are a plus
