Introduction to the positionThe International School of Brussels (ISB) is a dynamic, inclusive learning organization committed to developing independent learners and international citizens. The school is a vibrant community in which students, teachers, staff and parents work together towards the achievement of our mission and goals.Raiders Athletics, ISB's Athletic Programme, is committed to providing ISB students the opportunity to compete and develop their skills in a wide range of sports. On the courts and fields, students build and test their character.Key AccountabilitiesRaiders Athletics is currently looking for seasonal part-time coaches for the ISB Athletics Soccer programme at the U14 orJV/ Varsity level during the Fall season (August-November). Practices are held before and after school, two (U14) or three (JV/Varsity) times a week, and typically 75-120 minutes in length. Competitions take place during the week after school, as well as on the weekends (Saturday). Teams travel throughout the season to various locations primarily within Europe.Do you have a passion for soccer? To join the team, you will be responsible for the management of all practices and competitions as well as supervise the conduct of your team members, and that of the members of other ISB teams, during practices and competition.Coaching positions are open to all ISB teachers, but are also open to externals (through Interim Agency or free-lance).Skills, aptitude and knowledge:
  • A commitment to deliver excellent, energetic coaching sessions where all students can develop their skills, be challenged, and have fun.
  • Have an excellent working knowledge of a particular sport - technical, tactical and physical.
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop and progress coaching sessions for varying abilities.
  • Communicate effectively with children and their parents/guardians.
  • Be or become thoroughly familiar with the rules and regulations relating to the sport coached.
Personal Qualities:
  • Excellent communication skills with children, colleagues and parents/carers.
  • Patience, punctuality, reliability and trustworthiness.
  • A desire to share your passion
  • Able to work in a small team.
  • Pleasant and enthusiastic disposition with a team spirit.
  • Sense of humor.
Qualifications:
  • Have a passion for soccer and working with young people.
  • A background in soccer as either a player or coach.
  • Understanding of Child Protection policies.
