Do you get a sense of satisfaction when everything is seamlessly planned and all parties are satisfied?As an Operations Planner at DESOTEC, you play a key role in our team: together with your fellow planners, you ensure that all our ovens keep running with the right activated carbon – a challenge with great responsibility and a positive impact on a sustainable future!Who is DESOTEC?DESOTEC is an international environmental services company that helps protect the planet with sustainable mobile filtration solutions for the purification of liquids and gases.We have approximately 450 employees, united in Generation D., who are all committed to helping protect the planet by driving positive ecological change across all industries.Private equity funds managed by Blackstone acquired DESOTEC in 2021.Why are we looking for an Operation Planner at DESOTEC?At DESOTEC, we are looking for a colleague to strengthen our team of production planners in the context of exponential growth and ambitious projects.As an Operation Planner at DESOTEC, you will be entrusted with:Planning the transport of saturated carbon to the reactivation ovens together with your fellow planners, as well as managing various activities on the yard, both in close contact with the team leader and team supervisor.Managing the activated carbon (in big bags) in our external and internal warehouses by storing the activated carbon in the appropriate warehouse or timely requesting the necessary stock to ensure the supply to our reactivation ovens.Planning and monitoring the necessary transports to and from our external warehouses in collaboration with our transport partners and the external warehouses.Performing quality control (checking parameters after QC by the lab) on saturated carbon and deciding on the processing method of this carbon (based on the lab analyses).Managing the stock of waste carbon in the various warehouses (both domestic and international) and keeping the administrative records up to date in Excel and Navision.Ensuring, together with your Administrative colleague in Waste Operations, that the administrative processing of all transports and waste movements is carried out correctly and on time.Supporting Sales and other departments with inquiries regarding the acceptance and processing of activated carbon.What does your team look like as an Operation Planner at DESOTEC?You will join our Operations department, where you will play an important role within our Waste Operations team. In this position, you will report directly to our Team Lead Waste Operations Planning. Our team consists of 32 enthusiastic colleagues – 14 administrative staff and 18 workers – all of whom are looking forward to welcoming you and working together on our mission!Who are you as an Operation Planner at DESOTEC?You have a master’s degree or equivalent experience.You can communicate fluently in both Dutch and English. French & German are a plus.You excel at maintaining relationships with external partners and coordinating transports smoothly through strong communication and quick arrangements.You are analytical, computer-savvy, and detail-oriented. You keep track of the stock in big bags using Excel and Navision (and soon in Microsoft Dynamics).You have excellent prioritization skills and are a true team player. You coordinate your planning with your fellow planners and collectively determine which activated carbon should take priority.You are hands-on and a problem solver. For example, if the saturated carbon does not meet the standard load, you actively seek solutions while considering the analysis results and the risks based on customer-specific information.
