Our client is seeking an experienced Test Manager to design, implement, and oversee a unified testing and release strategy across multiple technical domains. This role is essential to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of both embedded and web-based solutions in a dynamic, agile environment.
The Test Manager will play a dual role: setting the overall testing strategy at a high level while also contributing hands-on to testing activities when needed.Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Governance
- Define and roll out a comprehensive test strategy adapted to different solution areas.
- Translate this strategy into concrete testing practices (functional, integration, performance, robustness, etc.).
- Integrate automated testing within a robust CI/CD pipeline.
- Establish a consistent release and launching strategy, taking into account interdependencies between systems.
- Design and oversee automated testing frameworks, including:
- Unit, integration, and regression testing.
- Infrastructure and connectivity testing (APIs, unstable networks, reconnections).
- Performance and non-functional testing.
- Define and monitor CI/CD pipelines, including quality gates and triggering mechanisms.
- Work closely with team leads to ensure alignment of deliverables.
- Monitor quality indicators and evolve the testing strategy based on field feedback.
- Provide regular reporting that can be integrated into project governance structures (e.g., Steering Committees, Project Status Reports).
- Take ownership of specific test activities, supporting teams directly when needed.
- Draft or review test plans, automated scripts, and defect reports.
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Reviews, Retrospectives).
- 5+ years of proven experience as a Test Manager or QA Lead, ideally in environments combining embedded systems and web applications.
- Strong knowledge of testing methodologies (ISTQB certification is an asset).
- Familiarity with embedded (C/C++) and web (PHP or similar) environments.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure DevOps) and test management tools (e.g., XRay, TestRail).
- Solid understanding of connected environments with potential instability (network resilience, error handling, robustness validation).
- Strong documentation and communication skills, with the ability to formalize global strategies.
- Autonomous, rigorous, and collaborative mindset.
- Excellent communication skills in English and either French or Dutch (oral and written).
