Visionaries like you work on teams that save lives by developing the medicines of tomorrow!Join us in developing treatments, finding cures, and pioneering the path from lab to life while championing patients every step of the way!Learn more atWe are searching for the best talent for a Global Cryopreservation & Cell Collection Sr. Manager to join our Team.Summary:The CAR-T Global Cryopreservation and Cell Collection Sr. Manager will be responsible for leading our EMEA team that will manage critical steps in our V2V supply chain for cell collection and cryopreservation of patient material in support of CAR-T Patients. This includes the onboarding and management of cryopreservation and apheresis sites; leading the SMEs for issue / impact of starting materials, material equivalency, and manuals; and serving as investigation leads. This team will be structured to enhance operational performance for continuous improvement and drive the network strategy for cryopreservation. The role will lead the development of team members to ensure personal growth and a robust infrastructure of capabilities to support commercial CAR-T activities.Key Responsibilities:
  • Identifies, develops, and implements commercial CAR-T apheresis and cryopreservation activities in support of the regional center of excellence.
  • Creates, facilitates, and conducts qualification and training strategy and activities for each apheresis site and technology transfer for cryopreservation sites
  • Acts as primary POC for apheresis center, local cryopreservation cell laboratories, as well as, contracted third party apheresis/cryopreservation centers.
  • Develops working knowledge of Information Technology, Logistic transport and regulatory requirements affecting apheresis material and cryopreservation activities
  • Leads issue management (related apheresis and cryopreservation), risk management, and change management for the process and/or equipment at each assigned site
  • Ensure timely receipt of recall communications from apheresis centers and evaluate impact to product quality
  • Ensures team member developmental growth while supporting day-to-day strategy and tactical execution
Experience and Skills:Required:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor Degree in a scientific or engineering field is required; Master's, MBA, or PhD preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required, e.g. pharma experience.
  • Experience in GTP, cGMP or GCP.
  • Project Management skills and the ability to connect cross-functionally with multiple functions.
  • Ability to make decisions independently, innovative and strategic problem solver with broad vision.
  • Ability to work independently and in a sophisticated matrixed team environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing situations, ability to prioritize tasks according to objectives, and provide problem resolution.
  • Strong quality approach.
  • Effective leadership skills and experience fostering team productivity and cohesiveness.
Preferred:
  • Working knowledge and experience in the treatment of hematologic malignancies including acute leukemias, non-Hodgkins lymphoma or multiple myeloma.
  • Manufacturing, supply chain and logistics understanding/experience.
  • Apheresis knowledge and working with health agency established blood/tissue requirements.
  • Expertise in evolving health agency regulations regarding cell therapy or gene therapy.
  • Understanding of drug development and submission requirements.
Other:
  • Travel may be required up to 30% of time
  • This position requires ability and flexibility to work on weekends/off hours for patient support.
