Are you ready to take it on?We are currently looking for an experienced IT Solution Architect to support a major transformation program within a critical infrastructure player operating in both Belgium and Germany. You'll be part of the Digital Division, actively contributing to the modernization of the group's IT infrastructure and application landscape.In this high-impact role, you'll translate business capabilities into end-to-end technical solutions, aligned with architectural best practices and group strategy. You'll collaborate closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, and subject matter experts, and be deeply involved in design, governance, and delivery.Your responsibilities will include:- Analyzing functional and non-functional requirements, constraints, and business needs
- Translating capabilities into architectural building blocks using modern design patterns (e.g., microservices, event-driven)
- Delivering architecture designs aligned with standards, guidelines, and reference architectures
- Acting as the key bridge between the product, architecture, and delivery teams
- Supporting implementation and ensuring alignment via architecture governance (e.g., Design Boards, ADR, ATAM)
- Providing hands-on support in integration design, application architecture, and tooling
- Embracing Agile ways of working and contributing to continuous improvement
- You'll work in a bilingual (English-German) context, with teams spread across Brussels and Berlin. Fluent English is required for documentation and meetings with both internal and external stakeholders. French and/or Dutch are a plus.Profile / Requirements
Here's our wishlist for the ideal candidate:Must-have skills:
- At least 6 years of experience as a Solution Architect in complex, enterprise IT environments
- Strong grasp of DDD, microservices, event-driven architecture and other modern paradigms
- Proficient in architecture frameworks such as ArchiMate, TOGAF, ATAM, CBAM
- Experience with architecture modeling tools (Sparx EA is a strong asset)
- Clear communicator, able to navigate cross-functional teams and align stakeholders
- Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of end-to-end solutions
- Confident leading discussions and facilitating collaborative decision-making (whiteboarding comes naturally)
- Agile mindset with experience in Agile/DevOps environments
