PhD position on ecosystem turnover across Early Eocene hyperthermals

The PhD student that will be hired on this project will work in close collaboration with two other PhD students in our research group.
- You hold an MSc degree in Geology or Biology, or a related field, with demonstratable experience in paleontological, paleoecological or paleoclimatological research.
- You have a keen interest in in paleoclimate-biosphere interactions, micropaleontology and geochemistry
- You are proficient in English
- Earlier experience with organic-walled dinoflagellate cysts or other micropaleontological techniques and fieldwork are a plus
- We offer a fully funded PhD scholarship, initially for a duration of 1 year, but extendable to 4 years after positive evaluation. Starting date: preferably by November 1st, 2025, but this can be negotiated.
- A full salary, in accordance with KU Leuven's doctoral salary scale.
- The candidate also takes up a limited amount of teaching activities
