This is a role with a clear connection to our mission. You will help us shape, lead and influence relevant Chemical Policy initiatives through appropriate engagement with EU and national officials. We operate in transparent and collaborative way that to drive towards consistent policy positions that support our customer’s sustainability agenda.What you’ll do:You will be the owner for leading and promoting the company’s interest on all the relevant EU and national Chemical Policy initiatives (REACH revision, BPR, Food contact, …).
You’ll partner closely with business, regulatory and sustainability teams to deliver value through Government Relations. As a comfortable communicator and influencer, you’ll use your in-depth knowledge of institutions, legislative process and sustainability / environmental focus to provide policy and legislative analyses as well as implementing advocacy and lobbying strategies.
  • Position Ecolab as a sustainability / ethics leader in the sector
  • Implementing tactics to advance public policy through advocacy with associations, NGOs and key stakeholders
  • Building coalitions to advance policy objectives
  • Building networks externally with key government stakeholders and trade bodies, to represent and protects the company’s business interests, and ensures our position on policy is understood
  • Providing proactive, effective communications and counsel to Ecolab business leaders regarding policy developments and potential implications
  • Collaborating with customers on advocacy efforts to ensure they have access to our products
What you’ll need:
  • Ideally, 7+ years of experience in a similar role, or with a demonstrated experience in Government Relations and regulatory environments
  • Proven track record of Chemical Policy advocacy campaigns
  • Fluency in English
What else would be helpful?
  • Experience communicating and presenting information in a manner that persuades, educates, and enhances understanding at all levels.
  • Strong consultative and interpersonal skills to work with diverse groups of internal and external individuals including lobbyists; elected politicians and regulators; trade and business associations; political organizations; and public interest groups.
  • Experience working on legislative or regulatory issues and processes for a governmental entity or private sector company.
  • Experience working with outside lobbying or consulting firms on projects or legislative efforts.
