About the roleAs a ERM & Internal Control Manager you help to promote a strong risk culture of integrity, transparency, accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement and you define and deliver risk training and education. You assist in the development of consistent risk reporting across the enterprise.Your Impact as ERM & Internal Control Manager:
  • Manage, and optimize the group enterprise risk management framework (documentation, communication, training, and monitoring) to provide reasonable assurance regarding the achievement of the group's strategic objectives.
  • Work closely together with and support business unit and function owners in assessing the key strategic risks and in developing, defining and monitoring mitigating actions.
  • Manage, and optimize where required, the group risk and control framework (define procedure, communication, training, and monitoring) to prevent unintentional and intentional errors in financial reporting, processes and business operations.
  • Actively seek standardization and automation, apply and implement best practices for managing internal controls and deploy innovative technology where possible to enhance and continuously improve the design and operating effectiveness of the controls, documentation, assessment and review procedures.
  • Support the periodic group and business unit risk review process and lead the process for internal control reviews across Bekaert Group and deliver adequate and timely reporting on the enterprise risk management and internal control framework, key risks and related mitigating actions and control deficiencies.
  • Provide input to Internal Audit team for audit planning and audit programs and obtain input from Internal Audit team on the testing of internal controls and, where applicable, drive or support control deficiency remediation.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned e.g., due diligence assistance in mergers and acquisitions projects.
About YouEssential skills & competencies
  • Minimum of 8 years' relevant work experience
  • Fluent in English (any other languages are an asset)
  • Certifications (CIA, CICA, CRMA) are an asset
  • Experience with Financial and IT applications: SAP, SAP BW, Blackline, Power BI, Data Analytics
  • Have an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and management (clear oral & written communication & presentation skills)
  • Comfortable working independently or in a team; and succeed in a multi-cultural environment
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Able to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Resilient, positive and solution oriented.
