- Provide support to the IOFI Regulatory Affairs and Advocacy Teams;
- Organize committee meetings, ensure proper follow-up of meetings, and accompany different IOFI regulatory and advocacy initiatives;
- Ensure a thorough monitoring on industry critical regulatory/legislative developments in key markets/regions covering inter alia food flavoring/additive legislation, general food legislation, food ingredient related legislation, and other relevant legislative areas and policy initiatives (e.g., labeling, health and nutrition, and chemical management);
- Assess relevant developments at Codex Alimentarius level;
- Develop appropriate membership information (Information Letters, Member Network updates Fact Sheets etc.);
- Develop advocacy tools/materials (e.g., position papers, holding statements, official IOFI letters, presentation materials) under the supervision of the Director of Advocacy and Regulatory Affairs;
- Respond to membership queries (“regulatory affairs helpdesk” function);
- Other tasks as assigned by the IOFI Executive Director.
- Advanced degree (MA) in Law, international relations, public affairs or related areas, or final degree in food or life sciences with a robust regulatory background based on previous work experience;
- Minimum of one (1) year work experience in a comparable position;
- Experience in the food/ingredients/FMCG sector and/or in a law firm or a legal/regulatory department in the private sector would be a plus;
- Professional proficiency in English (especially written) – more languages are an asset;
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Office (especially Word, Power Point and Excel);
- Excellent planner, organizer, and team player;
- Engagement, commitment, and hands-on mentality are crucial qualities.
