As part of our team, you will help shape secure, high-performance IT infrastructures that support energy reliability for millions.We are currently looking for an IT System Engineer to strengthen our team at Grid Software in Beersel, supporting secure and resilient control systems for electrical power transmission for our clients.Your tasks
Set up, test and harden Linux- and Windows-based IT systems used in energy transmission
Maintain and tune server operating systems (Red Hat, VMware, Windows Server)
Manage firewalls and switches (Cisco, Fortinet) including tuning and configuration
Configure and document infrastructure tools like Veeam Backup and McAfee
Administer security controls such as firewalls and GPOs to safeguard IT environments
Develop and implement maintenance and patch management strategies
Support acceptance tests (FAT / SAT) with customers
Contribute to technical solutions and evolve infrastructure capabilities
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with project requirements
Your skills
Degree in Computer Science or a comparable technical field
Proven experience managing enterprise IT/OT environments on Linux and Windows
Familiarity with script-based programming (e.g. Bash) and virtualization tools (e.g. ESXi)
Strong knowledge of IT network design and cybersecurity in industrial settings
Fluent in French, English and Dutch
Experience with cloud and containerized solutions
Basic knowledge of project management methodologies
Willingness to travel occasionally for 1-2 week deployments
