  • an artificial energy island (with offshore transmission infrastructure)
  • Multiple AC substations at 66kV & 220 kV (The windfarms are to be connect at the 66kV level = scope windfarm owners)
  • 6x 220kV AC export cable systems of ~50 km each
  • HVDC connection (1 converter offshore, 1 converter onshore, HVDC cable system) between the artificial island and the Gezelle substation
  • Possibility to connect future HVDC interconnectors
As the Belgian government has decided to auction the three windfarm lots in the Princess Elisabeth Zone (PEZ), we are looking for a Package Windfarms to manage this part of the project.Job description:As Package Manager Windfarms:
  • You report to the Program Manager
  • You work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • You will manage the interaction with the offshore windfarms
  • Co-develop and manage the technical framework as input for windfarm tenders
  • Perform role of technical SPOC for during the windfarm tender process
  • Assist in the engineering of the windfarm related infrastructure on the island (control room, 66kV GIS, cable pull-in concept,…)
  • Follow up of engineering and construction of the windfarms (as TSO).
  • You will process these interactions and use them to manage the different interfaces within the project (such as AC substations, island, cables and HVDC substation), as well as manage all actions with other technical departments within Elia
  • You will develop and implement the strategy for the windfarm interface after the government has awarded (covering engineering, construction and commissioning) and the team to manage it
  • You will act as first contact from within the project with the responsible Key Account Manager (KAM) within CURE
  • You continuously seek out opportunities to bring additional benefit to the project
  • You ensure timely delivery as well as quality and safety of your assigned tasks
  • You cooperate and coordinate with multi-disciplinary team of experts and internal/external consultants.
  • You perform regular reports regarding status and progress of your assigned tasks
  • You represent Elia towards different stakeholders
Your Profile
  • You are a qualified civil or industrial engineer specialising in electrical or mechanical engineering.
  • You have at least 8 years of experience with
  • Either high voltage substation projects
  • Either: Offshore projects (cable laying, substation construction or windfarm construction)
  • Ideally: both
  • You have experience with client interaction
  • You have project-management experience
  • Good knowledge of the offshore wind sector in general is a plus
  • You speak and write English fluently. A good knowledge of one of the national languages (NL/FR) is recommended.
  • You have a keen sense of responsibility and excellent organisational skills.
  • You are a smooth, assertive communicator and a resourceful, customer-oriented team player.
  • You are a quick learner
  • You are a Safety Leader, continuously looking for technical improvements and for safety enhancements by making a proactive contribution to the feedback process.
Offer

  • The project office is @ Quai Léon Monnoyer 3, 1000 Brussels.
  • The job will require travel on a casual basis, which will increase during the construction phase (2024/25 onwards)
