Job Category: LegalJob Description:DivisionWithin the People & Communications Division, the Group HR Legal & Social Relations, Compliance & Risk Management team is responsible for the management of the HR Legal files within the Division and the coordination of the Social relations with the Social partners on Group level.The team
is providing legal counsel to internal HR and business clients in a wide variety of individual files;
is in charge of the follow-up of changes in Belgian and European labor law regulation and the analysis of the company impact;
advises on the need to adapt internal policies and practices and ensures implementation. For the evolutions in the countries where Euroclear has Representative offices, he/she coordinates together with outside counsels the analysis and implementation of the appropriate changes;
is in charge of managing the social bodies in Belgium and on European level, including the Works Council, the Committee for Prevention and Protection at Work, the Union delegation and the working groups related to these forums as well as the European Works Council.
The team is currently looking for an HR Lawyer in charge of both individual HR Legal files and Employee Relations files.The roleThe job holder will have to:
Support the HR Legal team members and provide legal counsel to internal HR and business clients in a wide variety of HR legal files: analyze options considering the business context, striving for a balanced solution between company needs and employee interest and implement the solution through legal documents. These situations cover terminations, end of career solutions, change of employment contracts between Euroclear companies, mergers & acquisitions, etc…
Lead working groups with Social partners on a variety of topics such as Overtime & Holiday, Special working schedules, Policies & Employment regulations, New technologies, etc… in order to prepare and ideally obtain a consensus before reporting the outcome of the debates to the official body, be it the Works Council, the Committee for Prevention & Protection at Work or the Union Delegation.
Prepare and coordinate HR Legal projects covering different countries (update of employee handbooks, review of employment contracts & conditions, questions re work permits, pension,…. )
Act as a consultant to line managers and HR Business Partners regarding working schedules, watch duty regimes, working time matters, etc…
Follow-up on new legislation on labor law, recommend changes and ensure implementation with a specific focus on GDPR.
Your Profile
You are a lawyer with a minimum of 10 years experience in Labor law and/or Employee Relations in Belgium (eg. Consultancy, Law firms, HR department in larger organizations,…)
You are passionate about HR and combine this with a high business acumen
You can take a helicopter view, are able to take decisions and work in an autonomous way
You provide a qualitative and added value work to your internal clients
You are able to design innovative solutions that meet business needs and specificities
You are able to communicate clearly (written, spoken,...)
You are assertive and diplomatic
You are able to manage crisis situations and conflicts
You have strong influencing skills and are stress resistant
You are fluent in English, French and Dutch
You hold a Master in Law, preferably with an expertise or specialization in Employment law
