Following certificates & standards are mandatory for the performance of tasks:
- Certifications in Data Science and Machine Learning, especially related to AI/ML with Python.
Following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of the tasks:
- Experience (at least 10 years) in Solution Architecture and System Design for large-scale IT projects, ideally in EU organisations;
- In-depth knowledge of Data Science and Machine Learning principles;
- Good knowledge of AI frameworks such as Haystack, Langchain, etc.;
- Expertise in software requirements engineering, with an ability to translate complex stakeholder requirements into solutions and detailed technical specifications;
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, along with experience in using development tools like GIT, GitLab, Jira, Confluence, etc.;
- Knowledgeable in standard web technologies like API driven architecture, Single Page Application, Backend-for-Frontend, etc.;
- Experience with database management systems (PostgreSQL, etc.) and search engines (Elastic Search, etc.);
- Good knowledge of quality procedures and their application in the software development life cycle;
- Good knowledge of information systems governance;
- Good knowledge of cloud technologies.

- Ability to follow the fast pace of emerging technologies and solutions esp. in the gen AI domain
- Ability to establish high-level vision regarding the architectural landscape
- Strong analysis and problem solving skills

The following is a non-exhaustive list of tasks that will be performed by the external service provider:
- Support the GAIA Programme team in the context of application architecture and system design;
- Define & maintain an architectural vision & goverview of the GAIA landscape and registry of design related artefacts;
- Analyse gen AI architecture for consistency, completeness, accuracy and reasonableness;
- Oversee, monitor and report on vendor and contractor technical implementation activities in the GAIA Programme;
- Establish quality control mechanisms and implement actions to maintain architectural consistency across the GAIA application landscape;
- Coordinate the architectural discussions with other Commission stakeholders in the GAIA Programme;
- Contribute with architectural advice to Commission projects that make use of the GAIA horizontal solutions;
