An international law firm is seeking a Senior Competition Associate with 5+ years PQE to join its leading Brussels practice. The team is recognised across Europe for advising on complex merger control, cartel investigations, and competition litigation before the European Commission and other key regulatory bodies.About the RoleAs a Senior Competition Associate (5+ PQE), you’ll play a key role in delivering high-level competition advice to global corporates, financial institutions, and sovereign entities. The firm advises across sectors including tech, life sciences, energy, and infrastructure, offering you exposure to cutting-edge legal issues in a truly international environment.This is a senior-level opportunity with excellent visibility, offering client contact, mentoring responsibilities, and the chance to take ownership of key matters.What You’ll Do
  • Advise on all aspects of EU and international competition law, including merger control, foreign investment reviews, and cartel investigations.
  • Draft and review submissions to the European Commission and national competition authorities.
  • Support clients through behavioural investigations, abuse of dominance cases, and dawn raids.
  • Work on strategic litigation matters, including follow-on damages claims and appeals.
  • Mentor junior associates and contribute to internal training and business development.
Requirements
  • 5+ years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) in EU competition law.
  • Qualified lawyer in an EU jurisdiction; Belgian qualification is advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of merger control, antitrust investigations, and competition litigation.
  • Fluent in English (working knowledge of French or Dutch is a plus).
  • Proven ability to manage complex matters and provide strategic, commercial advice to clients.
