- Build and strengthen public narratives in the media to support key desired business and policy outcomes.
- Build, strengthen, and maintain strong relationships with reporters, editors, and other key media within region.
- Identify, develop, and deploy compelling media stories to appropriate outlets and through appropriate spokespeople.
- Convey scientific information in a relatable, impactful way across media outlets.
- Proactively monitor and respond to issues and crisis, in collaboration with regional and global team members, to ensure coverage is balanced and accurate.
- Lead proactive and strategic media relations counsel and guidance to Public Affairs and regional leadership teams.
- Train executives on media interactions.
- Create and execute an integrated media strategy to build, strengthen, and maintain a strong corporate reputation within the region.
- Lead daily media monitoring and reporting of relevant issues with global Media Relations team.
- Ensure accuracy in reporting on Corteva, correcting facts and content when necessary.
- Collaborate with global Public Affairs team to understand and integrate messaging centered around innovation, sustainability, and impact.
- Lead and support ad-hoc media projects and activities.
- Experienced communications professional with 10+ years of experience supporting communications (in house or agency) including extensive work within media relations.
- Bachelor's degree. Liberal arts, journalism, or related field degree preferred.
- On-the-record spokesperson experience.
- Experience establishing relationships with top-tier reporters and editors preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French; exceptional public speaker.
- Proficiency in editing content in English and French.
- Results driven; ability to successfully execute and manage through ambiguity.
- Ability to critically assess any given issue and provide counsel on recommended path forward.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to quickly adapt to changing needs.
- Ability to effectively prepare spokespeople and engage reporters.
- Ability to navigate a matrixed organization effectively and independently.
- Fluent in English and French.
- Ability to travel, when necessary.
- Ability to work outside of standard office hours, when necessary.
