When you join the NCI Agency, you will be part of an organization where you can contribute authentically to the mission and purpose of NATO and help us keep our technological edge.About the job:Based in Brussels the Senior Advisor for Internal Controls will join the Internal Control Officer in building, reinforcing, implementing and testing internal financial controls across the NCI Agency.This new position is responsible for conducting thorough reviews and testing of financial controls, operating procedures, and compliance within the Finance department, ensuring accuracy, effectiveness, and adherence to policies. The Senior Advisor will be proactively supporting internal controls, audits processes, whilst documenting findings to provide actionable insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.A key responsibility of this new post will be to support the development and maintenance of the Internal Control Framework of the NCI Agency, as well as preparing and executing impact analyses and ad-hoc reviews. The role demands active involvement in business process improvements, leveraging new technologies and automation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.The Senior Advisor also plays an important role in stakeholder relationship management, addressing issues, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders. Financial risk management is another significant aspect, involving the assessment and analysis of financial risks.Additionally, the advisor is tasked with documenting and documenting financial processes, risks and controls and maintaining knowledge of International Public Sector Financial Frameworks, particularly IPSAS and its application within NATO. This role requires a strategic approach to managing financial processes and controls, with a focus on continuous improvement and organizational excellence.For the full and detailed list of duties, where the internal title of this post is Chief Assistant (Internal Control)About you:You possess the ability to work independently, with attention to quality and engage with multidisciplinary stakeholders with tact, sound judgment, and adaptability.
