Lead RF design for high-speed travelling-wave optical modulators.
Collaborate with driver and processing teams to create tailored solutions.
Develop and test new equalisation techniques to boost bandwidth and performance.
Characterise high-speed devices and analyse experimental data.
Support photonic component, subsystem, and circuit design.

PhD in Photonics, Electrical Engineering, Physics (3+ years relevant experience) OR MSc in same fields (6+ years relevant experience).
Proven experience in photonic component design (silicon photonics or III-V materials).
Expertise in RF design for high-speed modulators (e.g., travelling-wave designs, impedance matching, termination circuits).
Skilled with RF simulation tools (CST, HFSS, ADS, COMSOL).
Experience in RF characterisation and testing of high-speed devices.
Strong integrated optics knowledge.
Nice-to-Have
Experience with optical transceivers and driver electronics.
Hands-on with photonic layout tools (Tanner L-Edit, Luceda IPKISS).
Knowledge of Python scripting and automation.
Experience with Linux-based environments.
Familiarity with different modulator material systems and physical effects (Pockels, plasma dispersion).
Prior project/team leadership experience in R&D settings.
