Offer DescriptionAcademic environmentThe University of Namur, with more than 70 programs, welcomes each year nearly 8,000 students and doctoral students, of 75 different nationalities, in law, computer science, medicine, philosophy and literature, science and social sciences. Of the University's 1,400 employees, more than 900 actively contribute to research within 11 research institutes, 65 laboratories and research centers and 9 technological platforms. Alongside 6 other faculties, the Faculty of Economic, Social Sciences and Management nearly has 1,800 students (including 160 in time shift programs) and 250 staff members including 85 academic and 70 scientific members. It offers undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs in management, management engineering and economics, and undergraduate and postgraduate programs in political sciences and information and communication sciences. The Faculty members carry out cutting-edge research in numerous areas of expertise.The candidate will be part of the Department of Political, Social and Communication Sciences. The Department organizes bachelor and doctoral programs in information and communication and in political sciences. Research is organized through two research institutes, the Namur Digital Institute (NaDI) and Transitions. In the information and communication domain, it concentrates on topics related to digital media and communication. The Department actively collaborates with national and international institutions and companies, through research projects, seminars, project-based courses and student internships.Job descriptionThe position involves, in equal parts, teaching and research duties, as well as some service activities. Teaching (mostly in the field of digital media and communication) will be carried out within the Bachelor's programmes. Research (approximately 50% of the work time associated with the position) will be undertaken in digital media and communication within the Research Center on Information, Law and Society (CRIDS - NaDI).RequirementsResearch Field Communication sciences Education Level Master Degree or equivalentSkills/QualificationsThe candidate is expected to have excelled in his/her curriculum (degree obtained with honours).
