- You must be between 18 and not yet 29 years old.
- You should be national of a country of the European Economic Area.
- No professional experience in Belgium.
- No criminal record.
- Conduct experimental research on steel/refractory interactions such as corrosion and clogging;
- Analyze microstructures and chemical compositions to understand failure mechanisms;
- Develop and test new material concepts to improve product performance;
- Work closely with global teams and external research partners;
- Stay up to date with industry advances and contribute to technical publications.
- Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Materials Science, Ceramic Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field.
- Refractories, ceramics, composites, or refractory metals
- Materials processing (e.g., pressing, sintering, coatings) and structure-property relationships
- Steelmaking processes (EAF, BOF, LF, BF) or continuous casting
- High-temperature testing and thermodynamic modeling
- Material characterization (e.g., SEM/EDS)
- Project management or R&D in metallurgy or ceramics
- Self-driven, well-organized, and proactive
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Fluent in English (French is a plus)
- Open to relocating to Belgium for the duration of the assignment
