As Legal Counsel, you'll be involved in the coordination of legal boards, lobbying government entities, and monitoring political initiatives affecting member's activities.You will be the legal expert in public procurement, promote balanced contracts, and provide administrative support to related federations while advocating for the interests of the construction sector.Legal Expert for public procurement
  • Monitoring current events & being the reference person for legal aspects of public procurement for the organisation (supported by external lawyers)
  • Represent the organisation on the National Public Procurement Commission
Animation of the Legal BoardIn collaboration with the chair(s): drafting agendas for legal boards + inviting expertsMonitoring political initiatives impacting member's activities (Flemish + Federal NL)
  • Drafting position papers for all relevant themes according to legal board members
  • Communication & follow-up of position papers
  • Collaboration + lobbying
  • if necessary: taking public actions in the media (press releases + interviews in newspapers)
Monitoring actions of the legal boardExplanation of key points/actions at the organisation's board of directorsPPSPromoting PPS in the 3 regions + federal
  • Organising seminars with politics & administration
  • Meetings with cities/Regions to monitor/adjust PPS initiatives
Balanced Contracts- Sensitising members to not accept unbalanced public procurement contracts- Proactive communication with members- Identification of concrete cases- Organisation of collective approach vs. public administrationImpactful role within the Construction industry|Represent the interest of all stakeholders and members of your organisation- Perfectly fluent in Dutch, good French- Belgian Master degree in Law- Expertise in Public Procurement Law is a strong asset- Strong interest in the Construction Sector and its interest- Willing to learn, can work autonomously, excellent communication skills, proactive- Enjoys animating work groups, speaking to larger audiences, as ease to defend the sector's interest (construction)- Minimum 3 years of experience (Jurist/Construction/...)Our client, located in Brussels, represents the interest of the construction sector and its main stakeholders, with of course a sustainable perspective.- a full salary package with benefits such as company car, meal vouchers, group insurance, hospitality insurance, etc.- yearly bonus- flexibility and homeworking possibilities
