We explore new technologies and invest in infrastructure to accommodate hydrogen, biomethane, CO2 and other molecules for a climate neutral future.The Data Administration & Management (DAM) team collects and processes all as-built information, both geographic and alphanumeric, from Fluxys' multi-molecule transmission pipeline network. DAM is systematically involved in matters relating to data modifications or the provision of data included in our pipeline plans and network diagrams. Fluxys' GIS application, which is managed by DAM, plays a key role in the performance of these tasks. Compliance with the principles of quality assurance and customer satisfaction is at the heart of our actions.The Engineering Department's DAM team in Brussels is looking for an Asset Data Expert.Job purpose
You will be responsible for the quality, use and development of geospatial asset data in support of operational teams, as well as designing appropriate technical solutions.Your responsibilitiesAs an Asset Data Expert within a seven-member team:
  • You will assist the mapping operators in using the team's IT tools.
  • You will carry out functional analyses with internal customers in order to design solutions tailored to business needs, and develop technical solutions (extractions, queries, lightweight developments) to meet the identified needs.
  • You will actively collaborate with the ICT teams to monitor projects, and propose innovative improvements with mapping operators to optimise processes and integrate new technologies.
  • You will gradually take on the role of an independent expert in a specific data domain (e.g. cathodic protection) or a specific technology (e.g. G/Technology).
About you
  • You have a bachelor's or master's degree in geography, geo-ICT or geomatics.
  • You have an excellent knowledge of geographic information systems (GISs).
  • You have at least three years' experience in a similar role, including proven experience in data analysis.
  • You can communicate fluently in either French or Dutch and have a good command of the other language. Your technical skills include relational databases. Proficiency in G/Technology, ArcGIS or Microsoft Power Query would be a real plus.
  • You are thorough and quality-oriented.
  • You have an analytical mind, work in a structured way, and can distinguish the essential from the non-essential in order to draw logical conclusions.
  • You are a clear and effective communicator, and enjoy working in a team.
  • Last but not least, you are independent, proactive and very keen to learn.
